Learning How to Study was written for high school juniors and seniors and college freshmen with this purpose in mind—to teach students how to learn, a prerequisite for academic success. As students progress through Learning How to Study, they will identify their poor study habits, and they will be shown how to replace these habits with constructive study skills. These major study skills are addressed in Learning How to Study: taking personal responsibility for learning, managing self and time, listening and participating in class, reading textbooks, using resources, preparing for and taking tests, taking notes, writing school papers, and preparing for the ACT/SAT. Each study skill unit incorporates student activities to reinforce learning.
